Saudi Businesses Think Pink For October Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign
SAINT-PETERSBURG: Saudi Arabia participated in the Third Euro-Asian Women’s Forum in St. Petersburg to highlight key economic roles. Saudi women have played a vital role in entrepreneurship, leadership positions and participation in decision-making in the public and private sectors, and more.
Organized by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly (the Senate) of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member States. A delegation from the Saudi Shura Council, led by Deputy Speaker Dr Hanan bint Abdulrahim Al-Ahmadi, highlighted the role of the Kingdom in the empowerment of women and their essential role in society and their contribution in different fields.
The Forum, inaugurated in 2015, is the largest international platform bringing together women leaders from all continents to discuss the role of women in the modern world and develop new approaches to solve global problems.
Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the second day of the Forum. In his speech, he pointed out that the Forum brings together women who are political leaders, entrepreneurs and public sector activists from over 100 countries around the world, which is incredible in light of the current circumstances in the world. today.
Putin stressed that due to women’s great awareness of the value of life and their compassion, they have always had a special mission in the field of health. He stressed his confidence that this will continue in the future and that women will have a role to play in the development of the health sector, medicine and public health protection, taking into account the lessons learned from the pandemic.
He also showed his gratitude to doctors and healthcare workers around the world for all they are doing to fight COVID-19 around the world.
In her address to the open session titled “The Women’s Group in the Work of the G-20 (W20) Summit and the Role of Women in Restoring Stability,” Dr Al-Ahmadi praised the role of the ‘Saudi Arabia in hosting G20 meetings. and G20 summit meetings, including the Women’s Group (W20) during a difficult time due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
She noted that women’s empowerment is a never-ending journey and that all countries are working hard to achieve and achieve their women’s empowerment goals.
Dr. Al-Ahmadi noted that there is a great legislative movement in the Kingdom regarding women’s rights. This includes the enactment of an anti-harassment law, laws supporting women who support their families, and decisions that give them the opportunity to travel, such as the right to drive, in addition to many favorable and possible choices for women. She added that this was only possible with the great support of the Saudi leadership, stressing the essential legislative role of the Shura Council in this great movement through its legislative, oversight and parliamentary functions.
